Muddy Carrot prize was icing on the cake for engaged couple
Winning a chocolate celebration cake in a draw from Muddy Carrot, the website that champions locally sourced items, was the icing on the cake for one newly engaged couple in Worcestershire.
Caroline Price, of Evesham, won the delicious £55 cake in a special draw to celebrate the launch of Muddy Carrot and gave it to her son David Price and fiancée Rachel Trembath, pictured, to mark their engagement.
Caroline, who runs a fair trade business and is impressed by the Muddy Carrot site, says, "The cakewas absolutely beautiful. It was really delicious and we enjoyed it enormously!
"I appreciate how important small businesses are and how they can all contribute something unique and personally produced - especially items that are ethically and locally sourced."
Caroline entered the Muddy Carrot draw after seeing a promotion on popular social networking site, Facebook.
The scrumptious chocolate celebration cake was created by Wiltshire cake specialist Buns in the Oven and it certainly lived up to its name.
Buns in the Oven owner Emily Walker, a former mining engineer, presented the delicious vanilla bean sponge, layered with dark chocolate ganache and decorated with chocolate scrolls and fresh fruit, to Caroline.
Buns in the Oven believes cakes should taste as good as they look and be made from the highest quality ingredients sourced in the UK, such aslocal, handmade, organic butter, stone-ground British flour, free-range eggs direct from the farm and more.
It offers a wide range of products from cute cupcakes to bespoke wedding cakes. For clients ordering celebratory cakes, Emily provides aconsultation and tasting session to plan and design their special cake.
Muddy Carrot champions locally sourced items throughout the UK and features food and drink, beauty products, holidays, clothes, yarn, courses, livestock and more. Buns in the Oven is one of its seller partners.
