Gearing for Growth at Association for Coaching
Committee restructure sees five new roles created on the UK Council
Association for Coaching: 23rdAugust 2012: TheAssociation for Coachinghas restructured its UK Council committee to create several new roles, ensuring that the organisation is structured to move it forward over the next five years.
There are ten Council positions, five of which represent new roles or extension to a role. The Vice Chair's role has been extended to incorporate Director of Strategy and Business Delivery and the Head of Communications will now also incorporate social media strategy. New roles include Head of Membership Services and Support; Head of New Membership Development and Head of Voluntary Network.
The restructure arrives as the AC celebrates its 10thanniversary. During this time, the Association has grown to more than 3000 members and, with the support of its volunteer network, has established a leading accreditation programme; a packed calendar of regional networking and CPD events; forums for sharing best practice; Co-coaching forums and teleclasses; five coaching books; roundtable discussions and collaborative partnerships to develop industry-wide standards and ethics in coaching.
Gladeana McMahon remains as UK Chair for the Association for Coaching, with overall responsibility for the the organisation and its relationships with various stakeholders. Helen Tiffany remains as Head of Conferencing and Events and Head of HR and Operations continues to be shared between Ann Moran and Janet Beardmore.
Gill Smith, former Head of Marketing has become UK Vice Chair and Director of Strategy and Business Delivery and is responsible for managing the legal and procedural aspects of the AC, driving forward the organisation's vision and objectives and workforce planning. Head of Marketing, Communications, & Social Media is now Steve Nicholls.
Kirsty McWilliam has become Head of New Membership Services and Support, with responsibility for development of member services and strategic alliances and Head of New Membership Development is Cath Brown with responsibility for the continued growth of AC membership.
The new Head of Voluntary Network, Jo Smith, will be responsible for the continued recruitment, support, induction and recognition of volunteers.
Other roles include Head of Accreditation and Standards - Lynne Cooper and Head of Research - Elouise Leonard-Cross.
Gladeana McMahon, Chair of the Association for Coaching in the UK comments, "The Association for Coaching is anot-for-profit professional body dedicated to promoting best practice and raising the awareness and standards of coaching, worldwide. It cannot operate without its committed network of dynamic volunteers and as the organisation grows, so too does the need for more resources. Our tenth anniversary is an ideal time to review our achievements and plan where the Association for Coaching is headed. To ensure our capacity for growth, we have increased the number of Council roles, to better reflect our needs in the future."
