MIDDLESBROUGH FAIRTRADE EVENT

TO SHOWCASE LOCAL FOOD PRODUCERS

Saturday 4 March 2017, Dundas Shopping Centre, Middlesbrough

Organic, vegetarian, vegan, gluten free and Korean foods, all locally produced, will be the stars of a Fairtrade Middlesbrough Food and Drink event in the Dundas Shopping Centre on Saturday 4th March 2017.

More than a dozen local food businesses, including Rosalind's Larder, the Olde Young Tea House, The Little Korean, Botton Village and the Green Guerrilla, will join the 20 traders in Dundas Indoor Market to help celebrate Fairtrade Fortnight 2017. There will be free tastings and information about Fairtrade goods on offer.

Organised by Fairtrade Middlesbrough and Middlesbrough Environment City, the event will be the highlight in the town of the national two week festival, running from 26 February, to promote the use of Fairtrade goods and persuade more local businesses to stock them. Middlesbrough has been a Fairtrade Town since 2007.

David Harris, Dundas Indoor Market Manager, said: "This event is going to be a must visit for all foodies and anyone interested in sampling a range of delicious locally produced foods. There will be tastes to suit all palettes.

"Events like this, combined with our monthly Food and Craft Market, and our established businesses such as Brickyard artisan bakery and Auntie Ambas, the home of the chocolate kebab, will further establish Dundas Indoor Market as the place to visit for good food in Middlesbrough."

Fairtrade Middlesbrough runs from 10am to 4pm on Saturday 4 March in the Dundas Shopping Centre, Middlesbrough.

Food and Craft Markets are held on the last Friday and Saturday of every month. The next markets take place on 24 and 25 February and 24 and 25 March. Traders interested in taking stalls at these markets can contact David Harris on tel. 01642 232552 or by email. david.harris@dundasindoormarket.co.uk or see the centre's website - www.dundasshoppingcentre.co.uk
