ADVANCE INFORMATION SHEET
The Little Book Of Big Leverage
Kieran O'Connor experienced a stressful period in his late 20s and realised hiding the root cause with medication would not work for him. He embarked on a journey of learning and self-improvement. The result is The Little Book of Big Leverage, which combines the latest Western psychological, engineering and scientific tools with ancient wisdom from the East to help himself - and others - make step-by-step improvements to take control of their lives. His new book reveals how you can harness the power of simplicity by aligning the conscious and subconscious minds, releasing resistance and transitioning from ‘working hard to working smart'. Kieran combines his work as a chartered design engineer with his new role of author, instructor and speaker. His focus is on helping people achieve happier, easier lives—from weight loss to lifestyle improvements, overcoming anxiety and fatigue, and easing and eliminating work stress.
Three life tips from Kieran O'Connor:
1. The quality of a person's life is directly proportional to the quality of the questions they ask.
2. The simplest way to improve your life: day-by-day do more of what works for you and less of what doesn't.
3. Reward yourself each month for a weekly task so that you will do better daily.
Many believe that the more you do and get the better your quality of life will be, but this is only half of the equation. If your life lacks balance then you will experience all kinds of trouble and trying harder will only exacerbate it. When balance is nurtured and encouraged you get more of what truly matters to you. This book assists you to move towards balance by showing you how to tap into the universal dynamic of leverage.
Have you ever opened a door or used a toothbrush? Then you have used leverage (or shift in balance) on a physical level. You've probably used leverage to make your life easier on other levels too whether you are conscious of it or not. Leverage is most influential when we use it in our thinking, as it helps us make better decisions and find more effective solutions. It's so simple that often leverage-style thinking sounds obvious, for example the best way to improve your daily quality of life is to do more of what works for you and less of what doesn't.
Why is it that so many of us ignore such obvious truths? Resistance. The Little Book of Big Leverage will help you find your way around it. When we work with the mind's mechanisms to align our conscious desires with our subconscious habits, resistance naturally drops away. We experience a less forceful and more fluid and flowing mindset and our natural path of least resistance reveals itself. This book is designed to assist you in gaining a measure of control over your awareness so that you can find your psychological sweet spot. When you make a tiny shift at a fundamental level, improvements in the day-to-day quality of your life naturally follow.
About The Author - Kieran O'Connor
Kieran O'Connor brings together two ends of a spectrum; the precision of a chartered design engineer and the fluidity of a martial arts and fitness expert. Several pivotal moments in his life led him to blending western science and eastern wisdom. In his later years, his curiosity about the workings of the mind/body connection took him to all corners of the earth. His journey began with a desire to escape the discomfort, confusion and frustration of working harder only to feel like he was going backwards despite all his best efforts. As he stripped back his thinking to the most basic concepts and principles that linked both east and west, the simple effectiveness of leverage became more apparent. As he ‘learned how to learn' Kieran experienced a fundamental shift in his mindset and found his life changing, he was enjoying each day to the full more frequently. It's not about learning anything new; it's more about remembering what we already intuitively know when we align our mindset with our true inner nature. Kieran is based in Falkirk, Scotland.
