The Meatsnacks Group, Europe's largest producer of jerky and biltong is launching a new Men's Health Fuel Beef Jerky recipe that has created a great tasting jerky with improved flavour and texture.

With the assistance of Men's Health Magazine subscribers, the new recipe was developed throughout 2016 and a new pack designed to portray the natural ingredients that is used within the marinade of the jerky. The jerky is then slowly cooked and smoked to create a tasty high protein snack.

The jerky uses 100% British and Irish beef silverside, which is a high source of natural protein. The product contains no added MSG and is free from artificial colours, flavourings and preservatives and it is gluten free.

The jerky has also been endorsed by Men's Health magazine for building muscle, as part of a protein rich diet and creating a healthy immune system.

Alun Williams, Group Publishing Director, Hearst-Rodale comments ‘We've developed our jerky further to be the best fuel for your body and now have a jerky that is even tastier and comes in single serving sized portions of 30g. Our jerky makes the perfect snack for keeping in your gym bag to aid muscle repair post workout.'

Protein is essential for building and repairing your body such as muscle re-growth, skin, hair and bones and this makes jerky a perfect snack.  As your body does not store protein you need to eat regular amounts throughout the day.

Protein also helps you feel fuller for longer as it acts as an appetite suppressant, so one 30g pack of jerky makes for a great snack during the day and helps keep those hunger pangs at bay.

Men's Health Fuel Beef Jerky is now available online on Amazon and meatsnackshop.com in 30g bags with an RSP of £1.89 and will be launching nationwide from March in Tesco and Lidl.

Notes to the editors

The Meatsnacks Group Ltd produces jerky and biltong which are highly popular with athletes and fitness-conscious snackers looking for an energy boost, as the products are high in protein and lower in fat than other snack products. This makes jerky and biltong a healthier snack when compared to products such as crisps, biscuits and chocolate, and hence why it's also popular as a snack at home or for those on the move and at work.

The essential difference between jerky and biltong is that the former is made from sliced, marinated meat which is then cooked and smoked, whereas biltong is made from sliced, marinated meat which is then air dried.
