Olson Visual transforms ordinary conference room into stunning exhibition space using Tecna Display's T3 systems
US-based Olson Visual recently used Tecna Display's T3 systems to put together a stunning series of displays for a special exhibition on ‘Jewish Histories in Multi-Ethnic Boyle Heights', held in the Leve Centre at UCLA, Los Angeles.
The specialist in large format digital graphics used the UK-manufactured T3 modular framework to create numerous display frames that supported a variety of information graphics and monitors.
Most of the graphics had been produced on Dibond and fabric, which were then mounted onto the framework - using Velcro for the Dibond and silicon edging fitted into T3 Silverlite inserts for the fabric.
Perspex cases were also created to house artefacts including old Yiddish typewriters and yearbooks, along with new technological mediums like digital maps and videos. Digital monitors including screens and iPads were screwed directly onto the framework.
Jenna Kush, Museum Consultant for Olson Visual said: "We used the T3 System because it allowed for a quick set up, cleanliness of the design and the flexibility of materials we could cover the framework with. In addition, the hall had no freight elevator and the exhibition space was on the third floor, so easy modular breakdown was key for transportation."
The frameworks were created using T3 Airframe and Fusion tubing, which allowed for the most versatility and ease of build, with all the frameworks being installed within five days.
Jenna added: "The client was very happy with the results. They couldn't believe how we completely transformed a conference room they see every day into an exhibition space, and the T3 system was essential for that. Although it was only open for a short time, hundreds of people toured the exhibition. The Centre has had very positive responses and there is interest from other institutions in Los Angeles to show the exhibition in future."
