Surrey's celebrity hotspot announces sponsorship deal with Imad Wasim

Mitcham's most famous curry house, Chak 89, have just announced that they will be sponsoring the flamboyant Pakistan cricketer Imad Wasim. Chak 89 will become Wasim's personal choice sponsor as a fan of the celebrity hotspot in Surrey.

Imad Wasim has been touted as the next big thing in Pakistan cricket, and his triumph in the Caribbean Premier League found the Swansea-born ‘all-rounder' named as the Man of the Tournament. Being the only man to be ‘not out' in the recent one day series with England for three consecutive matches, there's a bright future ahead for the player, and Chak 89 want to help support him to get to the top of his game.

Frank Khalid, owner of Chak 89 said, "We are delighted to be an official sponsor of Imad Wasim. We are passionate about the people who visit Chak 89, and knowing that Imad is a big fan of ours is a real honour. What better way to show him our support by deciding to be his sponsor? We hope that the coming years will prove to be a huge success for the incredible Pakistan cricket player".

Chak 89, the infamous curry house in Surrey's Mitcham, have signed a 1 year sponsorship deal with the player which covers the one-day series against the West Indies, Australia and the Champions Trophy playing for Pakistan. It also covers Imad Wasim playing in the PSL T20 games in Dubai in February 2017. The Chak 89 logo will be displayed on the back of Wasim's bat.

Chak 89 are no strangers to the world of celebrity, and often have guests such as Danny Dyer, Aaron Paul, Lindsay Lohan, Emeli Sande and John Terry visit their establishment. Most recently Two and a Half Men star, Charlie Sheen, stopped in for a curry during a promotional spot in the UK. The team at Chak 89 are hoping that their most recent sponsorship deal will attract the Pakistani community to get involved in the events and banqueting side of the restaurant, and attract more interest in the Pakistan player.
