Award-winning depot upgrades lifts

One of the South East of England's leading bus companies has invested in seven sets of TOTALKARE cable free vehicle lifts to replace aging equipment at an award-winning depot.

The Metrobus depot in Crawley was previously equipped with just one set of TOTALKARE cabled lifts, alongside Stertil and Rotary equipment.

The major upgrade of the firm's lifts, with saw the part exchange of the Stertil and Rotary equipment for new TOTALKARE products, will bring a host of benefits to the workshop.

Brian Young, National Sales Manager, at TOTALKARE, explained: "Switching to cable free lifts reduces the risk of trips and falls whilst improving workshop efficiency through increased flexibility.

"We are delighted that Metrobus decided to invest in our lifts, and the company has also signed up for an ongoing service and maintenance package which includes annual Reports of Thorough Examination, which are required under Health and Safety legislation."

Established in 1983 in Orpington, Kent, Metrobus was acquired in 1999 by the Go-Ahead Group plc - one of the five largest transport groups within the UK - and in 2014 the company's Crawley Depot was awarded Top National Bus Depot at the UK Bus Awards

Meanwhile TOTALKARE has also installed a further three sets of lifts at three depots belonging to Brighton and Hove Bus & Coach, which is also part of the Go-Ahead Group. The new cable-free lifts replaced older Rotary Equipment.
