FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Calling all Birmingham and Sandwell based charities; The King's Head needs you

According to the government charity commission, there are over 2,000 registered charities in the Birmingham region that all need help to continue to provide their services to people across the region. The King's Head are hoping that in 2017, they can help to spread the word about any charity that would like to be a part of their campaign to give back to their community, as they have been this year.

Jo Scone, Marketing Manager for The King's Head said, "Our charity events throughout 2016 have proven to be a huge success - the response we received from locals was astonishing and we already have charity partners lined up for the rest of this year. We are proud to have had the opportunity to raise money for such amazing causes and it was lovely to see our community get together to actively raise much needed funds for local charities, which play such a huge part in helping our local community. We are now urgently seeking more charities for the whole of 2017 to continue to help."

At the beginning of 2016, The King's Head in Harborne set themselves the task of trying to help as many local charities as they could, by holding events, a monthly quiz and themed evenings at their historic venue every month. The King's Head have so far held fundraisers for: The Birmingham Dog's Home, The Warley Woods Community Trust, Birmingham St. Mary's Hospice, the Queen Alexandra College and St Albans Community Association, and there will be many more in the coming months. They now need more local charities to come forwards and get in on their pledge for 2017.

Jilly Rivers, Fundraising coordinator at Birmingham Dogs Home said "We feel very fortunate to have such wonderful support from The Kings Head this year. We cannot thank Jo, and her dedicated team, enough for firstly organising a much needed item collection for our homeless dogs, and then recently holding a very successful charity smart phone pub quiz in July, which raised over £300. I attended the pub quiz, with friends and colleagues, and had a great evening full of fun and laughter whilst raising vital funds".

Any charities wishing to take the opportunity to get involved in The King's Head's charity pledge for 2017 are to get in contact with Jo Scone, Marketing Manager via email: jo.scone@efb.co.uk or via telephone: 0121 277 4130.
