Materials handling and asset management specialist Briggs Equipment is reinforcing its credentials in the automotive sector as a major sponsor of this year's North East Automotive Expo.

The Expo takes place at the Stadium of Light in Sunderland on Thursday, September 22, andis theonly event focused solely on supporting the innovative and growing automotive sector in the North East.It isorganised bythe North East Automotive Alliance (NEAA), the largest automotive cluster in the UK, which provides a single unified voice to key stakeholder groups.

Briggs is sponsoring the Meet the Buyer event, which is part of an initiative tosupport the region's automotive industry with business opportunities. Visiting delegates and exhibitors can book one-to-one meetings with original equipment manufacturers and Tier 1 suppliers including Nissan, Jaguar Land Rover, Komatsu, Calsonic Kansei Europe, Nifco, Faltec and Faurecia.

Alan Mood, a Key Account Manager at Briggs Equipment, said: "As an active member of the NEAA for the past year we will use the Expo to raise our profile as the exclusive distributor of Yale and Hyster equipment in the UK and a leading engineering services provider.

"The Expo offers an ideal platform to highlight our expertise within the automotive industry, giving us an opportunity to discuss the materials handling issues associated with increasing efficiency and achieving cost competitiveness while maintaining productivity and site safety."

Briggs will also have a major presence as an exhibitor at the North East Automotive Expo. As well as a stand within the main exhibition centre, the company will have a large outdoor display in the dedicated demonstration/test drive area to promote the features of Yale's diesel and electric counterbalance forklift trucks and warehouse equipment.
