Oleo International boosts senior team to elevate global opportunities
With the global elevator market projected to enjoy growth of up to 15% by 2019, a global leader in elevator safety buffer technology has ramped up its senior team in order to take full advantage of international opportunities.
UK-based Oleo International has appointed two regional sales managers to operate from its manufacturing facilities in the UK and China, as part of its ambitious growth strategy. The UK arm of the business has appointed Paul Clinton as European Sales Manager to consolidate and grow the sales of the company’s extensive range of elevator safety buffers in key European markets. These are currently served by Oleo’s manufacturing locations in the UK and Shanghai, and from its distribution facility in Germany.
In addition to Paul’s appointment, Oleo has also promoted Johnny Cheng to the position of Sales Manager for the Asia Pacific region, as it plans to grow its market share even further in countries such as China, which is expected to account for 70% of new elevator installations across the globe during the period 2015-2019. His role is to manage Oleo’s sales team in China to enhance customer relationships and take advantage of burgeoning opportunities in the region.
The strategic move comes at a time when RnRMarketResearch has recently published its latest elevator market review, projecting up to 15% global growth for the sector by 2019, with China expected to drive much of this growth. Oleo International has long been trading in the Asia Pacific region, but is preparing to further grow its market presence in this, and other key regions, following its senior sales team shake up.
The new appointments have been made at a time when Oleo is preparing to open a brand new manufacturing facility in India in 2017, focused primarily on the manufacture of buffer safety systems for the elevator market, with some small scale operations for other sectors. The Indian factory, which will be based near to Bangalore Airport, will be the company’s second biggest global factory.
Jamie Pratt, Managing Director of the Elevator Division at Oleo International, commented: “At Oleo, we are experiencing a rise in demand for elevators and safety systems all over the world, as the construction market in developed and developing countries continues to grow. We have identified rich opportunities in the Asia-Pacific region, in India, and throughout Europe, as skyscrapers become more and more important facilitators of urban and economic growth plans. By cementing the roles of dedicated sales managers for emerging regions, we are well placed to identify and take advantage of new opportunities globally for our internationally recognised range of products.”
The appointment of Paul Clinton and the promotion of Johnny
Cheng follow the retirement of Robert Kemp who was Oleo International’s Global
Sales Manager, pledging 40 years of loyal service to the company.
