Bradford Garden Centre invests in playground extension for summer holiday fun
Just a year after opening, a Bradford Garden Centre has extended its children's play area.
Grass Hoppers at Tong Garden Centre welcomed over 22,000 children to its new adventure playground over the course of the summer holidays last year and Tong's owners are hoping that the investment in the extension will see this double in 2016.
Co-owner, Mark Farnsworth said: "We have extended the Grass Hoppers play area by 50% to accommodate a second jumping pillow, an extended beach play and seating area and a hot food servery. Early feedback has been very encouraging and we look forward to welcoming many more children and their families to Tong this summer."
An additional highlight at Grass Hoppers throughout the summer holidays isdonkey rideson Tuesdays and Fridaysfrom 10.30am to 4pm. The rides cost £2.50 and 10% is being donated to Tong's charity of the year, The Cellar Trust, which helps people recovering from mental health problems to get back into work.
The team at Tong has also introduced a bespoke pre-school play area and children's parties in response to customer demand.
Grass Hoppers was awardedBest Place for Children and Young People in Leeds' category in the Child Friendly Leeds (CFL) Awards that took place earlier this year.
Tong Garden Centre is one of Yorkshire's biggest garden centres with 110,000 square feet of retail space and parking for up to 1,000 cars.
