Thousands to benefit from kick-start of mental health services transformation
CNWL's Chief Executive, Claire Murdoch, has launched an NHS England plan to kick start mental health service transformation.
Thousands of children and adults of all ages with conditions such as psychosis, depression and anxiety will be among the first to benefit from improved services as work starts on a major transformation programme for mental health care.
Claire was appointed Senior Responsible Officer for mental health and is responsible for overseeing the delivery of the programme.

In the foreword Claire Murdoch, as NHS England's new National Director for Mental Health, says: "The costs of mental ill health - whether to the individual, their family or carer, the NHS or wider society - are stark. So today we're kick starting national action to overhaul and expand this long neglected part of the NHS."
CNWL is also involved in two one-year pilot partnerships (of six) to manage what's called tertiary care - specialist services.
These give providers an incentive and responsibility for new approaches that will prevent avoidable admissions, reduce length of stay through more community support. The aim is to eliminate inappropriate out of area placements; sometimes many miles from home, which is not the best way.
Robyn Doran, CNWL Chief Operating Officer, said: "The pilots will test new methods and we're very keen to contribute to both these partnerships."
