ROVIN' FEST IS THE PERFECT FUNKY FAMILY

FESTIVAL THIS SUMMER

ROVIN' FEST, held at Cheltenham RFC Newland Park from Friday 22 till Sunday 24 July, is set up to be the festival of the season in Gloucestershire with its amazing line up of acts, performers and events.

 

The family orientated festival is set within the panoramic backdrop of the Cotswold hills and offers the very best in live music from funk, jazz, soul, folk, ska, reggae, rock, punk, indie, hip-hop and dance.

 

Alongside the music, attendees can enjoy a market, food village and street art. This year's line-up includes retro bands East 17 and Musical Youth, 80's band Doctor and the Medics, and DJ Pied Piper and MC Creed, as well as a broadspread of contemporary artists such as FUSE ODG & Young Kato.

 

 

Fridays' line up: DJ Pied Piper+MC Creed; Dub Pistols; Polary; The Cugini's; Screaming Dead; Knebakeye Alley; Boys in the Wood; The Foghorns; Nobby Williams.

 

Saturday's line up: Fuse Odg; East 17; Bupsi; Musical Youth; Yxing Bane; Celestine; Benji & Hibbz; The Tribe; Last Orders; All Ears Now;  Gracie May; Grove; Cream & the Blues; Ten Tombs; Dantemiller; The Krose.

 

Sunday's line up: Pee Wee Ellis; The Freestylers feat Valarie M from Groove Armada; Doctor & the Medics; Young Kato; Oas-is; King Solomon; Erica; The Cuginis; Knebakeye Alley; Quigley; Cashes Green; Grand Wa Zoo; Velvet Love & the Memphis 1; Fraserlepford MeganTimms.

 

Julie Folks, who runs Rovin'Fest is pleased to announce the return of KIDS KIX ARENA for this year's festival: ‘This year we have again free covered entertainment and activities tent open all weekend for parents and kids, to include a bouncy castle, kids' ‘Top Of The Pops' disco, Winston's 2nd-hand toy market (in aid of Winston's Wish and Marie Curie), face painting, circus skills, parent and toddlers music workshops and kids' street dance workshops with the B crew.

‘We're also delighted to have at the event "The Rig", which is a structural interactive installation that combines percussion, creativity, musical exploration, visual stimulation, learning and adventure. Designed by professional musicians, The Rig is an impressive, original and creative sound scape of percussion with an exciting visual impact aimed at kids from 1 to
100 years old that was recently on CBeebies.'

 

Festival-goers will be able to choose from a plethora of food vendors, including Wandering Foods, Swing Grill BBQ, Diner Shack Burgers & English Breakfast, The Prime Ministry Meat Company, King Shots Coffee, and a selection of global cuisine.



The festival site opens Friday 22nd July 2016 at 1pm for campers and the arena opens at 6pm till midnight. The arena is open Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th July 2016 from 8am till midnight.
