Radio call for help in completing charity challenge

Managers at Staffordshire-based Briggs Equipment have managed to secure £6,000 for the Teenage Cancer Trust after rising to an impromptu challenge.

At 5.45 last night (Tuesday) they were given just 24 hours to raise £1,000 for the company's adopted charity, as one of a series of challenges agreed at the end of a management team meeting in Birmingham.

Other challenges included being pictured with a celebrity, making 50 people happy and to spread word of their fundraising efforts via local radio.

Since then they have been pictured with celebrity hairdresser Nicky Clarke and news presenter Nick Owen, and made scores of people in Birmingham city centre smile for impromptu photographs.

More significantly, suppliers of Cannock-based Briggs have pledged around £6,000 for the Teenage Cancer Trust.

Now they are just looking for a major regional radio station to help them complete their ambitious set of challenges and boost their chances of raising even more for a very worthy cause.
