PRESS RELEASE

DIMPSEY GLAMPING IN SOMERSET SHORTLISED FOR COUNTRY HOMES & INTERIORS 2016 MY COUNTRY BUSINESS AWARD

Dimpsey Glamping, based in Ilminster in Somerset, has been shortlisted in the prestigiousCountry Homes & Interiors  2016 My Country Business Awards in partnership withnotonthehighstreet.com.

Now in their seventh year, these awards are designed to celebrate existing country businesses and trailblazers, as well as looking to empower a new generation of country-based, creative entrepreneurs. The judging takes place next Tuesday 28 June.

Dimpsey, which is run by husband and wife team Emma and Andrew Warren, is shortlisted in the Hospitality and Leisure category. The 5* luxury shepherd's hut retreat is described as "an all-in experience helping busy people to get some quality time together". Dimpsey Glamping is based on Emma and Andrew's small farm on the Blackdown Hills in Somerset, which is shared with Dexter cows, Jacob and Zwartble sheep and a few chickens and a goose called George.

Emma says: "We are obviously delighted to be shortlisted for this award. The idea of the glamping experience is to chill out and reconnect with each other, and we have geared everything at Dimpsey around making that happen. From relaxing music to snuggly beds, hearing the owls hoot at night and watching the animals during the day, we've totally got chill out covered.

"People come away from their stay saying they feel rejuvenated, relaxed and reconnected. That's our aim - to give people the chance to rediscover the purpose in their relationships and to rediscover themselves in natural, luxurious surroundings."

The hut is designed and kitted out to feel like a luxury hotel, and Emma and Andrew always go the extra mile to make it really comfortable , ensuring that all the styling is from British designers and adding in extra little treats to delight visitors.

The hut, designed by local craftsmen Blackdown Shepherd Huts, is 18 feet long and contains a double bed, seating, kitchen area and a bathroom with shower and flushing toilet.  Visitors can stay for £125 per night for two adults and this includes logs for the woodburner and the firepit, use of the brand new hot tub, a welcome tea tray and eggs, bacon, butter, milk and bread for a hearty first morning breakfast.

Emma adds: ‘We have hosted over 150 guest nights so far and bookings are going very well. More importantly we have exceeded our guest expectations. We want to be known as the go-to place for a luxury experience that exceeds your expectations and soothes your soul, so we always have that in mind. We also want to prove that fields and farms can be at the forefront of being a great brand, and our attention to detail at Dimpsey proves just that.'
