LABCELL INTRODUCES EXHAUST GAS ANALYSER THAT MEASURES

BOTH NO_XAND NH₃

Labcell is introducing the new ECM NO_x/NH₃5240 Analyser,

an instrument that combines the measurement of NOx, NH₃, O₂,

and Lambda in a single, compact package.

Labcell is introducing the new ECM NO_x/NH₃5240 Analyser, an instrument that combines the measurement of NOx, NH₃, O₂, and Lambda in a single, compact package. Unlike all other ceramic NO_Xsensor systems, the Model 5240 eliminates the cross-interference of NH₃in the NO_xmeasurement and hence provides separate NO_xand NH₃readings resulting the in the development of better emission controls for Diesel and Spark-Ignition engines.

Typical applications for the new NO_x/NH₃analyserinclude emissions testing of large diesel engines for trucks and buses, though it can also be used with smaller internal combustion engines and is programmable for fuels other than diesel. The instrument is designed primarily for use in engine dynamometers, but it is also suitable for use during in-vehicle testing. Thanks to its six analogue outputs and CAN connectivity, the NO_x/NH₃analyser is easy to integrate within almost any data acquisition and engine control system. In addition, the analyser has two large, clear LED displays on the front panel.

The NO_x/NH₃analyser uses a pair of sensors, both of which have their calibration stored in a memory chip in the connector. For improved accuracy with high exhaust gas pressures, a pressure compensation kit can be specified. Measurement ranges are 0-5000 ppm for NO_x, 0-1000 ppm for NH₃, 0-25 per cent for O2, 0.4-25 for lambda and 6-364 for AFR. Response times are less than 1 second for NO_xand NH₃, and less than 150 ms for the other values.
