DPF Clean Team unveils rapid new cleaning technique to the UK

Fleet managers who need to return a vehicle to the road quickly following a blocked diesel particulate filter (DPF) can now have their DPF professionally cleaned and returned to them the same day, after DPF Clean Team introduced a new, rapid cleaning technique to the UK for the first time.

The automotive reconditioning expert has spent the last twelve months developing a new cleaning process based on induction heating, with the results from research and development demonstrating significant reductions in both the time it takes to clean a DPF and the accuracy of cleans. The company has become the first of its kind in the UK to start offering this immediate service to fleet managers, garages and members of the public. The process is equally as effective for cleaning catalytic converters and silencer units as well.

The new process utilises special heating technology to heat a unit at optimum temperature for a set amount of time. Highly trained experts at DPF Clean Team then air knife and flow test the component to bring it back to a near-new condition. The company has invested heavily in research and development in order to understand the exact temperatures and times required to heat a component for maximum cleanliness.

The new method offers a significant reduction of time over alternative cleaning processes and is being offered as a premium service for fleet managers. Typical cleaning techniques can take between 24 hours to six hours respectively to complete; DPF Clean Team's induction-based process can clean a component in just one and a half hours. The company now anticipates a significant growth in demand for the service and as a result is implementing a Saturday drop off service to ensure demand is met.

DPF Clean Team's commitment to continuous improvement has also seen the company expand its premises in Hinckley, Leicestershire, with a dedicated research and development area committed to finding new ways to clean DPFS, catalytic converters and silencer units more quickly and effectively than ever before.

Speaking about the new cleaning process, Director at DPF Clean Team, Cameron Bryce explained:"We are extremely excited about the potential for this new method of DPF cleaning. The benefits for all vehicle owners is significant, and we envisage it will have a significant impact for fleet owners.

"Maintenance of fleet vehicles can be costly and time consuming, with fleet managers not only having to factor in the cost of the cleaning process itself, but the time vehicles are out of service can have a significant impact on business services and efficiencies too. This new service offered by DPF Clean Team means fleet managers will now be able to have entire fleets serviced within a day, and our additional Saturday drop off service will keep business disruption to a minimum for our customers."
