Hoppecke customers to benefit from enhanced warranty

Hoppecke Industrial Batteries - the leading specialist in industrial battery systems and the largest battery manufacturer in European ownership - has revamped the five-year warranty policy that it offers to all its motive power customers.

While the vast majority of users have been benefiting from a top quality service for many years, Hoppecke's new simplified and standardised warranty policy ensures every customer will now have their warranty claims handled and processed much faster than before.

The new policy will mean that up to 90% of all warranty claims will be resolved within a working week, as long as customers have followed set maintenance procedures and not mis-used the batteries in any way. Examples of mis-use can include not topping up the batteries regularly or not using distilled water.

As Hoppecke's warranty service evolved over the years, the company found that different customers had different warranty arrangements and this could lead to delays in processing claims. The old warranty system was also highly manager-intensive, which also built delays into final checks and approvals.

Hoppecke's top priority has always been to minimise the length of downtime for its motive power customers so the new policy has been devised to make the whole warranty issue much more straightforward and easier to manage.

Says Hoppecke's Service Director Stuart Browne: "It's absolutely vital that we help to keep our customers' trucks up and running as much as possible. As long as the maintenance records show that our standards have been adhered to, claims will now be turned around much faster than was previously possible. Of course, if Hoppecke also manages the maintenance contract on a customer's batteries the processing of warranty claims is made even easier."

Managing Director Jason Howlett says: "We have been listening very closely to our motive power customers and it became clear that we needed to simplify our offering in terms of battery warranty and service. We needed the whole process to be more responsive, fair and equitable and we needed customers to feel fully supported."

He adds: "Good maintenance is the key to warranty and properly maintaining batteries is absolutely essential. Whether a customer chooses to do their own maintenance or uses Hoppecke's expert maintenance service, if batteries are maintained to our standards, we will honour the warranty. We have now empowered the team at Hoppecke to make much faster warranty claim decisions and we believe that this will be a key differentiator for us in the competitive motive power sector."
