The Great British Beer Boom; ‘Meet the Brewers' at The King's Head in Harborne

Popular gastro-pub The King's Head in Harborne have teamed up with Black Country brewery, Sadler's Ales, to showcase some of the best ales in the region at their ‘Meet the Brewers' event on the 20th May 2016.

With over 1,400 breweries now in operation in Britain alone, there's no doubt that the UK is seeing a ‘beer boom'. According to Government statistics, the beer and pubs sector is now responsible for over 80,000 jobs in the West Midlands, with over 126 breweries in the area. Not only is the industry creating jobs, and a boost to the UK economy, there's also an element of pride involved too - Britain is, once again, producing some of the best beer in the world.

The King's Head, a long standing establishment on the outskirts of Harborne, has been a social hub in the local area for over 100 years. Having served a variety of Sadler's Ales as guest ales on their menu for some time, the team at The King's Head have come to love the small, Black Country brewery. The fact that they can serve local ales to their loyal locals gives them added bragging rights, along with being one of the most visited independent gastro-pubs in the area.

Chris Sadler, fifth generation head brewer from Sadler's Brewing and Brands said, "we have a great team in place at the Company - communication is the key with so many events and brews happening at the same time but we are always totally focused on producing both interesting beers whilst maintaining the highest quality. The King's Head ‘Meet The Brewer' event will be a great way for the company to meet customers and talk about the beer styles we create. Our brewers are really looking forward to the evening and to what we hope is a big turn out.'

Jo Scone, Marketing Manager at The King's Head in Harborne said, "Our relationship with Sadler's Ales means that customers get to drink their signature ales alongside dishes that complement them, and vice versa. We're all really looking forward to the event, and getting to meet some of the people who love our local ales!"

The free event, promoting Sadler's Ales on draught at The King's Head will give customers a chance to meet the brewers themselves. With free samples for customers, and a true insight into craft beer and how it's made in the Midlands, the event is set to be a hit. The ‘Meet The Brewers' event will be held on the 20th May 2016 at The King's Head, Harborne from 7pm onwards.
