Yorebridge House Hotel Strikes Gold as Best Small Hotel in the UK at the 2016 Visit England Awards
Yorebridge House Hotel, owned by Dave and Charlotte Reilly, is in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, have had an outstanding year, winning awards galore, as well as recently gaining 3 AA Rosettes. And they have now been awardedGoldas theBest Small Hotel in the UK, in the much coveted Visit England Awards for Excellence, the most prestigious awards in English Tourism, and they were up against the very best small hotels across the UK, and exacting standards and rigorous criteria had to be met.
The Gold Award is the highest Award for Excellence in Tourism in England which VisitEngland can bestow. Yorebridge House was presented with their Gold Award by, Suzanne Chilvers - Head of Springboard North and Joss Croft - Director of Marketing, VisitBritain at the glittering Awards Ceremony held on Tuesday 8 March at the Winter Gardens, Blackpool.
Commenting on the Award, Sally Balcombe, CEO of VisitBritain and VisitEngland said "We received hundreds of applications of an exceptionally high quality making the competition for a Gold Award extremely tough. It is therefore a tremendous achievement for Yorebridge House to win a Gold Award, the highest accolade for Excellence in Tourism which VisitEngland can bestow. They have raised the bar for excellence for others to aspire to and I warmly congratulate them on their exemplary contribution to tourism in this country."
Dave said "It still hasn't sunk in! We can't quite believe that we have won Gold in this prestigious award, against some incredible hotels across the whole of the UK. It means so very much to us to be recognised in this way.
"We all work very hard as a great team, and always want to give our visitors the very best of everything when they stay with us.
"We feel that if people choose to go away, they hope to have a very special time, and we want them to go away feeling that is what Yorebridge House has done for them."
Yorebridge House, set in the heart of Wensleydale, in the picturesque village of Bainbridge, was created by Dave and Charlotte, by converting the historic Grade II listed Old School and Headmaster's House, dating back to 1850.
Having had no previous experience in the Hospitality world, and the premises never having had a history for hospitality or food, Dave and Charlotte opened their doors in 2008, having transformed it into an award winning 11 bedroom, 5 star highly commended Restaurant with Rooms, and the only Restaurant with Rooms in Yorkshire to have been awarded 3 AA Rosettes in 2014, which they have retained, where its elegant and stylish interiors offer a warm intimate atmosphere.
Each of the luxurious bedrooms have been inspired by Dave and Charlotte's travels, with room names that reflect their journey and which evoke very personal memories for them and for their visitors to enjoy. All suggest romance and exotic journeys recreated by Charlotte, who is also a sought after interior designer. All the furniture and fittings have been sourced from around the world, giving it a very unique, subtle and elegant opulence, all blended with warmth and generous hospitality.
