Food and drink businesses shown how to leverage technology to stay ahead, at Foodex
Visitors to this year’s Foodex exhibition will be given the opportunity to learn how to better understand their customers and leverage technology to streamline operations, with the help of international consultancy firm Columbus.
Columbus will be exhibiting on stand S315 and sharing the stories of Dominos, Just Eat, Weetabix and D among others. These are just some of the businesses in the sector to be working with Columbus to embrace new technology for company-wide efficiencies. Food and drink manufacturers will also be given a glimpse of Microsoft Dynamics AX 7 on the Columbus stand.
Made available to manufacturing businesses in the UK recently, Microsoft Dynamics AX7, promises to make food manufacturers even more competitive through streamlining delivery infrastructures, empowering people through mobile technologies and delivering even more intelligent operations. It will help food manufacturing businesses to collate data instantly and provide it back to customers in the form of services.
Columbus is widely recognised as a global leader in maximising efficiency and business performance for companies, helping businesses in food manufacturing change and take a lead in this competitive sector. With deep industry expertise the company has been able to help its clients become more successful by adapting and implementing proven Microsoft-based solution sets for immediate business impact. Columbus also believes that support is an essential part of customer success and has introduced ColumbusCare which provides enterprise-class support 24/7 for critical business applications including Microsoft Dynamics, Columbus Software as well as other related enterprise software solutions.
To celebrate the achievements of such clients as Dominos, Corney and Barrow and UCC Coffee already successfully transitioning to service-based business models, Columbus will be giving away free samples of pizza, wine and coffee at its stand for all Foodex visitors. These Columbus customers are all examples of food businesses leveraging new technologies in order to transition to new service-led strategies. Dominos is working with Columbus to make its workforce more responsive to customers through the adoption of Handheld devices, whilst employing standard functionality and standard business processes with the help of Columbus’ best practise industry templates. This is helping the business to mobilise its entire workforce. Corney and Barrow is also utilising Columbus technology and implementing an enhanced multi-channel retail strategy for its products and UCC Coffee is utilising Columbus’ technology to seamlessly integrate its AX ERP solution with third party applications in order to collect and analyse business critical data in one place for faster decision making.
Mary Hunter, Managing Director at Columbus, explained: “Food and drink manufacturers are facing constant pressure on their margins and must achieve greater efficiencies in production and deliver improved services to customers to enable them to be more productive and grow. Microsoft Dynamics AX7 incorporates Microsoft’s Azure cloud platform to deliver a fully hosted application to food and drink manufacturers. This means that employees can become more mobile, business critical data is more accessible for reporting, and businesses can scale up or down more quickly to meet fluctuating demands.
“At Foodex, as well as showcasing the functionality of
Dynamics AX7, we will also be demonstrating how Columbus is working with some
of the most efficient food and drink manufacturers to make them even more
competitive and forward thinking in an industry that is facing constant
challenges.”
