Briggs Equipment names Peter Jones as Managing Director

Materials handling specialist Briggs Equipment UK has announced the appointment of Peter Jones as Managing Director.

Previously the company's Chief Financial Officer, Peter joined Briggs in 2006 and has been a key member of the leadership team, playing a significant role in the transformation of the business following its acquisition by Sammons Enterprises Inc.

Peter is a graduate of Nottingham University and a chartered accountant. In addition to his finance and commercial acumen, Peter has considerable experience of change management, business planning and process improvement. Prior to joining Briggs Equipment, Peter enjoyed a 14-year career with PricewaterhouseCoopers in both the UK and the USA.

Commenting on the appointment, Briggs International's CEO Darron Ash said: "Peter has clearly demonstrated his strong leadership capability, vision for the business and passion for the Briggs UK team and its customers. The company's interests are best served by leveraging the expertise and experience we already have within the UK business."

An appointment to the role of Finance Director will be made in due course.
