Official launch for allotment project
An award-winning scheme that's transforming neighbourhoods in Staffordshire by converting derelict plots of land into thriving community allotments is set to expand.
Volunteers, community leaders and local residents will officially open the latest allotment on Wednesday in Blythe Bridge, Staffordshire as part of the ‘Growing Health' project - a joint initiative by Stafford and Rural Homes (SARH) and Stafford Borough Council.
The launch follows the success of similar schemes in Meadow Road, Stafford, Priory Road, Stone, and Brookhouse Drive, Barlaston.
Growing Health was recently recognised by The Tenant Participation Advisory Service (TPAS) for the way it has helped members of the local community improve their health by growing fresh vegetables for healthier meals and getting them engaged in physical activity out in the fresh air.
