Fastec Handrail Systems Ltd launches brand new modular handrail system for the UK market / 22.05.12
Fastec Handrail Systems, part of theBarrett Steel Ltd Group, has developed and launched a new range of modular handrail fittings which have been designed in the UK for the UK market. Major benefits of the new systems include handrail brackets that meet ‘Part M' of the Building Regulations, testing to BS6399-1:1996, and superior corrosion resistance in external grades.
In a ‘More for Less' package, Fastec Handrail Systems has also introduced a ‘free fixings' promise, ensuring that all the fixings required to assemble the components together are supplied free of charge.
General Manager, Ian Auty, explains the concept behind the system: "Before developing the new system we examined our customers' needs closely. At the same time we recognised that most handrail systems on the market today have not been tested to ensure they conform to British Standard side-loading criteria.
"We've therefore ensured that all our modular pieces, fixtures and fittings comply with British Standards, from handrail brackets down to nuts and bolts, as well as testing our designs to ensure they are safe for individual customers' installations giving them confidence in our product".
"We also recognised that in the British climate corrosion resistance in external installations had to be better than current systems offer. We've therefore improved the chemical composition of standard G316 external grade fittings to create the Fastec G316's' which offers a superior corrosion resistance to any other standard G316 product on the market. Comparative testing in a salt-spray booth has shown that G316's' significantly outperforms the standard 316 grade."
As well as the Fastec Handrail System in stainless steel, the material of choice for architects and designers, Fastec also offers Timber-tec, Glass-tec and Wire-tec systems, which all have their unique aesthetics properties to complement any design scheme.
This comprehensive range promises to offer the architectural specifier a wider and more flexible choice when designing for high profile developments such as luxury residential apartment blocks, shopping malls, nightclubs, sports venues, shops, bars and restaurants, particularly where the required solution needs to be aesthetically appealing, functionally practical and visually dramatic.
Operating from a purpose-designed 3,100ft2 warehouse and sales facilities, Fastec Handrail Systems holds extensive stocks within the UK, ensuring rapid next-day turnaround. In-house specialists provide assistance at every stage of a project from initial consultation through to delivery.
As part of the Barrett Steel Ltd Group, Fastec Handrails Systems also promises customers all the benefits of being part of the UK's largest independent steel stockholder.
