Beverley skincare specialist to speak at American conference as facial massage popularity grows
A Beverley skincare specialist has been invited to talk about the anti-ageing effects of facial massage at an American Face and Body Conference next month.
Dr Katerina Steventon is the only European speaker on the rostrum at the three day conference and will address the audience of skincare and wellness professionals on ‘Professional Facial Massage: An Evidence-based Anti-ageing Treatment'.
Reflecting on the opportunity to share her knowledge and expertise with a transatlantic audience, Dr Steventon said: "I'm very proud to have been invited to talk at the Face and Body Expo. It is a reflection of the growing worldwide popularity of facial massage as anatural anti-ageing alternative to surgery and injectables.
"There is a growing body of evidence* to prove that regular facial massage stimulates collagen producing cells, epidermal turnover and regular shedding, alleviates sagging of the cheeks and drains lymphatics to eliminate metabolic waste. In addition, regular massage decreases anxiety, increases positive moods and has strong effects on psychological relaxation."
The Face and Body Midwest Spa, Conference and Expo takes place in Chicago from 12- 14thMarch.
In addition to being a published author and respected speaker, Dr Steventon runs the independent skincare consultancy, FaceWorkshops. Dr. Steventon uses her PhD in skin science combined with her professional facial therapy training to provide clients with a bespoke package of scientifically validated products combined with facial therapies in Beverley, East Yorkshire.
Before establishing FaceWorkshops in 2009, Dr. Steventon's experience spanned several years and continents - from prestigious skincare brand, La Prairie in her native Czech Republic to Shiseido in Japan and Smith and Nephew wound healing in Hull.
