*      Some great British B&Bs for the year of the Jubilee and Olympics - more affordable than chain hotels

Enjoybedandbreakfast.com, the new travel website specialising in independent accommodation that can be booked securely in real time online, has selected 60 of the most charming and British B&Bs - one for every year of the Queen's reign - for aBest of British Collection(www.enjoybedandbreakfast.com/england/best-bed-and-breakfasts/). And prices start from as low as£27 per personper night. (See end of release for the Top Twenty.)

Travellers who love quaint B&Bs, charming inns, small boutique hotels and guest houses that celebrate a unique ‘Britishness' need look no further than the following list from the travel specialist. All the things that make Britain great are here, from celebrating Britain's history- some B&Bs date back as far as the 15thcentury - to trendy modern seaside properties that show off ‘cool Britannia'. There are also picturesque B&Bs set in beautiful English country gardens, or in the heart of the breathtaking countryside, which showcase our green and pleasant land.

The best news is that the most expensive option on the list still only costs £55 per person per night, and the cheapest is only £27 per person!

Enjoybedandbreakfast.com is a new website that only lists independent accommodation (no chain hotels), which can all be booked securely online, real-time. Other websites that feature B&Bs and guesthouses usually either hide them among chain hotels and self-catering options, or don't have the online real-time booking facility, meaning users have to email the owners direct instead of making a reservation instantly online.

Kerry Harding, one of the founding members of Enjoybedandbreakfast.com, says they are committed to "finding individual accommodation, with bags of character, high standards of cleanliness and customer service, but often with the quirky little touches that you don't find in chain hotels."

"We want to make finding, booking and staying at independent accommodation in the UK as easy as possible," says Kerry, who has worked for HostelBookers and Priority Pass.

"We didn't understand why it was possible to check availability and book any chain hotel online in a few minutes, but it was such a hassle to do the same thing with independent accommodation. We thought it must have put a lot of people off discovering the joys of staying in such fantastic little gems all over Britain, many of which give a far superior travel experience and are a lot more affordable."
