accurate and affordable water activity analysis

Labcell now offers a comprehensive range of instruments for analysing water activity and moisture content in food, pharmaceutical, cosmetic and similar products.
With the introduction of a range of new and updated products, Labcell now offers a comprehensive range of instruments for analysing water activity and moisture content in food, pharmaceutical, cosmetic and similar products. Most customers find that one of the AquaLab Series 4 analysers offers the ideal combination of accuracy, speed, ease of use and affordability. With water activity having such an important role in food safety, shelf life and quality, it is easy to see why.
The AquaLab Series 4 is suitable for measuring water activity in many different types of product, while the Series 4TE adds control over the sample temperature, the Series 4TEV has temperature control and an additional sensor for use with volatiles, and the Series 4TE DUO analyses both water activity and moisture content.
All of these instruments are extremely compact, requiring less space on a laboratory bench than a laptop computer, and measure water activity to within +/-0.003 awin approximately five minutes or less (the AquaLab Series 4TEV, when used in capacitance mode to analyse volatiles, is accurate to +/-0.015 aw). Customers involved in the manufacture of food, pharmaceutical and cosmetic products use these instruments for goods-inwards inspection of ingredients, in-process batch testing for quality assurance (QA) purposes, and end-of-line QA tests. In addition, the analysers have proven to be invaluable in the development of new products and packaging.
To complement the AquaLab analysers Labcell now offers AquaLink 4 software for reporting, data backup and trend analysis. The company also supplies verification standards, sample cups and cleaning kits, and can undertake annual calibrations - with loan instruments available by prior arrangement.
Labcell has now published a Quickstart Guide to help customers with new AquaLabs; by following the guide, users can obtain water activity measurements in as little as half an hour after unpacking the instrument. Copies of this guide are available free of charge to anyone interested in the AquaLab analysers.
