2016 Brings New Opportunities for Birmingham Pub

The King's Head in partnership with DBS Heart, a local community interest company, are in the process of organizing their next wave of networking events, PULSE Bearwood, helping to raise awareness for local charities, build community relationships and engage with other like-minded business people.

After the success of their launch event in October 2015, over £100.00 was raised for John Taylor Hospice as the first charity to benefit from the events proceedings. PULSE Bearwood will host a different charity partner every month in an effort to promote local charities which lie in the heart of the Bearwood Community. Their 2016 events will kick start at the first event of the year on Thursday 28th of January.

The Harborne pub's monthly events will be dedicated to connecting business professionals from across the wider Birmingham area together, to create a vibrant network, whilst also raising awareness for local charitable causes.

Jo Scone, Events Manager at The King's Head has said, "PULSE Bearwood is a fantastic opportunity to raise the profiles of local businesses and raise awareness for local charitable causes. Working in conjunction with Josh Henwood from DBS Heart we have worked effortlessly to ensure that the event is as accessible as possible, following feedback from our initial event we've amended the times of the event as we're all aware the Hagley Road can be a little manic during rush hour! And as always our Head Chef, Daniel Humphries, will be cooking up a storm in the kitchen and providing some of our finest canapés for the event, like our Chicken Lollipops and Vindaloo Curry Puffs with Riata Dip!'

Networking groups offer many advantages to a business and its sales team, and can have a great impact on a local economy. According to a study by Business Network SW (http://business-networksw.org/2012/02/15/our-survey-said-87-said-they-network-why-read-on/) 95% of people attend business-networking events to generate new business leads and build on existing relationships.

Josh Henwood, Executive Officer of DBS Heart CIC, has said ‘"We are delighted to have launched PULSE Bearwood at The King's Head in October and at how the concept of charitable networking in the local area has been received by the attendees. It's our hope that PULSE Bearwood grows and develops into something that the local business community finds synonymous with the area and we are very much looking forward to be hosting the next event in the new year."

The PULSE Bearwood events will take place from 4:30pm until 6:30pm and will benefit a different charity each month. Tickets are £5, £4 of which will be donated to the monthly chosen charity to help with their fundraising efforts. The event will run in partnership with DBS Heart, Yogurt Top Marketing and Preach PR. The King's Head hopes that its popular historic venue will become the ‘go to' networking event for high flying business professionals who want to build on their existing local business relationships.
