Balhouse Ruthven Towers team up with Cheeky Monkeys
for an extra special Zumbathon
It’s going to be Strictly
Come Zumba at Balhousie Ruthven Towers Care Home in Auchterarder this
Saturday as staff and residents team up with a local nursery, Cheeky Monkeys,
for a sponsored Zumbathon.
The energetic event, taking place from 2.00pm – 3.00pm on
Saturday 8th November, is being organised as part of Ruthven Tower’s
intergenerational project, a community initiative to bring together the young
and old so they can learn from each other and develop together. Any money
raised will be split between funding for the nursery and a comfort fund for the
residents at the Care Home.
Staff, residents, families as well as children and members
of the Cheeky Monkeys team are looking forward to showing their Zumba moves at
the event. Yvonne McKenzie, Home Manager at Balhousie Ruthven Towers Care Home,
commented:
“Our intergenerational project is very important to us at
Ruthven Towers and we are delighted to be able to host an event like this
alongside Cheeky Monkeys Nursery to bring together the young and old for some
dancing with a difference. Enabling generations to connect in this way offers
the people involved an opportunity to build a knowledge and appreciation of
each other that may not have been possible if not for initiatives such as
this.”
Balhousie Ruthven Towers Care Home is a restored former
country house hotel which has been lovingly converted to provide its residents
with a spacious, comfortable and safe environment where they can feel at
home.

NOTES TO EDITORS
Balhousie Care Group aims to become the most admired and
respected provider of residential care in Scotland.
The group was founded in 1991 by Tony Banks, who recognised
that the number of good care facilities available in the North-east at the time
was limited and that the standards in some homes were below normal
expectations.
Tony decided this was an opportunity to fill the void by
opening a residential care home that provided undisputed excellence by way of
the facility itself, the staff it employs, the management ethics, and most
importantly, the level of genuine care that would aim to meet the expectations
of both residents and family members.
