47,000 digital technology companies and growing: UKN comment

 

The first ever Tech Nation report has revealed that there are over 47,000 digital technology companies in the UK, with 74% outside London – contributing to a diverse national economy. This has led to constructive comment from leaders of IT services and providers, with the UKN group a key example of this.

The rise of information technology is reflected strongly in these statistics, with experts reflecting that the sector, especially in regards to technology use, has seen a real surge since the recession.  Technology is diverse and therefore progressive medium, with the report also citing that with 74% of these technology companies situated outside London, this is key to building a strong national network.

The UKN group are specialists in the field of information technology, regularly commenting on contemporary stories in the field. “The rise of digital and information technology since the recession is a real prospect for British industry,” a spokesman commented “As we approach The General Election it is certainly a field the whole country can be proud of. Therefore it is essential that it is supported for the coming years.

“The Tech Nation report provides affirmation that investment in information technology really is the way forward. As part of the report, the findings that of all new companies founded since 2008, 15% are based in digital technology, show that the sector has played a central role in economic transformation.

“What is important, looking forward, is that these companies are well resourced and those starting are given the incentive to grow. As many of these are outside London, as the report confirms, this does not mean that they should feel compromised in terms of connections. Having the ability to implement professional and closely managed IT services is key. After all, although the report shows that digital technology companies have been rising, this suggests that therefore it is likely to be an increasingly completive field and therefore the best performers really do have to be at the top of their game.
