Crown Gas and Power Target Commercial Gas Brokers with Flexible Services and IT Platform

Aiming to build long term relationships, Crown Gas and Power has launched initiatives to support the commercial gas broking sector including a powerful IT platform and a selection of packages with fixed and flexible cost options.

General manger, Terry Day, explained, “As part of the Crown Oil Group we have a 65 year pedigree in the energy business. We value trading relationships and our aim is always to be transparent, responsible and respectful so that we build trust. As part of this, every client has a named account manager who knows their trading history and can advise on the best deal to meet their needs, free from hidden tie-ins.”

The Crown Gas and Power Portal is a free software platform where the broker can see all their customers, contracts, live market information and commission in one place. The system shows commission paid and due as well as handling invoicing. It is totally transparent with contract start and end dates clearly shown.

Suitable for small businesses, with usage up to 100,000Kw per year, the ‘Pricing Matrix’ is based on live wholesale market pricing, with variable-term contracts in contrast to the standard bespoke package. The attraction for the small user is a lower standard charge and a slightly higher unit rate.

‘You Fix’ gives the broker an end-user friendly product with no unexpected pass through charges from the distribution company. This is often attractive to public service organisations who appreciate the price stability that it affords.

‘You Choose’ is a broker friendly product where the gas price can be locked-in at an interval after the contract is agreed, but before the contract commences, avoiding seasonal and transient price spikes. “A broker visiting a client can close a deal but fix the price at a later time at more typical market level rather than having to accept the prevailing spot price that may be untypical of general market rates and uncompetitive,” explained Terry Day.

“Each customer is different and there is a sweet spot in every deal where everyone benefits, so we have put together options to suit different situations. We listen to customers and will continue to innovate to offer fuel packages and support services that are in tune with broker and end-user needs. Further innovations are in the pipeline.” Terry concluded.
