The PK Cookbook

Go Paleo Ketogenic and get the best of both worlds

By Dr Sarah Myhill & Craig Robinson

It is time to demystify the PK diet! The PK Cookbook offers a straightforward, easy to follow, nutritional plancombining the health benefits of the Paleo and Ketogenic diets. The book includes ashopping template, seven-daymeal plannerandpreparation guidethat will help to abolish any sense of food-bereavement as you embark on this new way of living and eating! There are recipes that require little preparation for the severely fatigued, even some that need no cooking, and includes PK bread and PK ‘dairy' (lack of bread and dairy are major sources of long-term PK diet failure). Learn how to get yourself out of the ‘metabolic hinterland' and feel the results of ketosis, fasting, and a healthy and sustainable way of eating and living.

Dr Sarah Myhill has been helping sufferers from debilitating chronic conditions for over 30 years with an approach that combines all the benefits of current scientific knowledge and medical testing and treatments with an expanding appreciation of the importance of nutrition and lifestyle. She is regularly in the headlines due to her position on functional nutrition in thetraditional world of medicine. The writing of ‘Prevent and Cure Diabetes' saw her arrive at the conclusion we should ALL be eating a diet that combines Paleo principles (eating pre-agricultural, seasonal foods) with Ketogenic ones (fuel the body with fats and fiber, not with carbs or protein). That book tells us WHY; now in this down-to-earth, highly practical PK Cookbook, Sarah and Craig tell us HOW.

"The correct diet is the single most important determinant of good health,"- Dr Sarah Myhill

What is the PK diet?

Humans evolved over two and half million years eating a paleo, ketogenic diet that:

• follows the seasons

• is pre-agricultural so excludes grain, refined carbs and dairy products

• is high in fat and vegetable fiber as alternative energy sources to sugar (respectively, ketones and short-chain fatty acids) and low in sugar and starchy carbs.

What are the benefits of a PK diet?

*Weight loss *Blood sugar levels stabilize *Energy levels improve (can miss a meal without getting an energy dip) *No more obsession with food *Physical and mental endurance ability improves *Mental performance improves *Calmer, less anxious *Gut health improves (i.e. reflux, bloating, irritable bowel) *Sleep quality is better (and you may need fewer hours sleep) *Skin quality and appearance improves *Immune system strengthens *Problems with inflammation and fatigue improve
