Boulting Group announces launch of Nuclear Division
Warrington-based Boulting Group has launched Boulting Nuclear, a specialist Strategic Business Unit (SBU). This SBU has been established to focus on the emerging Nuclear Engineering sector and is headed by Terry Marston as Managing Director and Bob Bianchi, Business Development Director.
Core services will include Electrical and Instrumentation and Mechanical Services including Structural Steelwork, Pipework, Fabrication and Site Erection. Additionally this new SBU will offer the Design and Manufacture of 415v Electrical Switchgear, Intelligent MCC's and Specialist Control Panels.
"The focus of our strategy is that as we have our own multi-discipline nuclear delivery capability and capacity, then we will be searching the UK market for potential partnerships and alliances with specialist nuclear designers and Tier 1 managing contractors", said Marston.
To further underpin their penetration into the Nuclear New Build market Boulting Group has established a UK registered private limited company under the name of S&B Nuclear Services Limited with Groupe SNEF of Marseille. This joint equity company, with offices in Warrington and Bridgwater, is now perfectly placed to maximise on the developing Nuclear New Build Power Station E&I opportunities that are presenting themselves in the UK.
"Groupe SNEF approached us a couple of years ago in order to assess our interest in establishing a formal business relationship to target the E&I Nuclear New Build opportunities at the EDF Hinkley Point C Project. We jointly agreed that there was a great deal of synergy between the two companies with the potential to work closely together as we offer complementary services.
"The expertise within Groupe SNEF is their competence and experience of their Nuclear E&I Design Services, with Boulting Group supplying the project delivery aspects via their experienced and competent site teams. It quickly became apparent we had an exciting new offering we could supply to the emerging Nuclear New Build market. As a result S&B Nuclear Services was established with a 50/50 equity stake from each party", said Marston.
With many years of Nuclear experience and competent core resources to draw upon from both of its equity partners, S&B Nuclear Services is well positioned to capitalise on the developing opportunities in the Nuclear New Build market.
"There will also be a number of both UK and International companies who will be seeking to harness the UK expertise and experience of companies such as Boulting Group and S&B Nuclear Services. We are looking to align ourselves with some of the major players that will no doubt be shortly entering the UK Nuclear New Build Sector", added Marston.
