KNAPP to supply the world's largest shuttle storage system for Hugo Boss

Hugo Boss, the international fashion and lifestyle brand, has commissioned KNAPP to supply the warehouse automation for its new distribution centre in Filderstadt, Germany. With 400,000 storage locations, the OSR Shuttle^TMsystem will be the largest system of its kind in the world.

Hugo Boss is investing almost 100 million euros in the 23,400m²facility, which is located just south of Stuttgart and close to the city's airport. The OSR Shuttle^TMsolution will provide Hugo Boss with the flexibility required to react to future market changes and the various demands of its sales channels both quickly and efficiently. In particular, features such as the ability to store full cases directly, the immediate availability of items after goods-in and high throughput have made KNAPP's OSR Shuttle^TMsystem the optimum solution. Goods-to-person order picking will be carried out at KNAPP's highly ergonomic Pick-it-Easy workstations. The new logistics centre will go into operation in 2014.
