Press Release: IBS Awareness - THE POWER OF FOOD!

IBS Awareness - THE POWER OF FOOD!

April is IBS awareness month. 1 in 7 people is affected by IBS(67% more women than men) and it's rising dramatically worldwide. In fact, digestive disorders amount to around  10% of GP appointments in the UK. It can affect quality of life significantly, with everyday activities such as going to work, socialising, travelling, or even simply just leaving the house becoming challenging for people living with IBS.

IBS is actually a cluster of symptoms, includingpain, excessive wind (gas), constipation, diarrhoea, bloating, cramping, and it's common for bouts of IBS to be accompanied by fatigue. There is mostly no single treatment, which can leave our health system feeling ill-equipped in finding reliable solutions to this widespread problem. There arealsomany conditions thatcanmimic IBS -coeliac disease,  inflammatory bowel disease, diverticulitis, histamine intolerance, and even endometriosis which may need to be ruled out.
