Frog Systems recruits senior IT industry specialist as new COO

 

Tech start-up Frog Systems has recruited one of Scotland’s most experienced technical and service directors as its Chief Operations Officer (COO).

Paul Jeffrey is joining the Glasgow-based company, following a 20-year career with iomart Group plc where he worked in several senior executive roles, most recently as Group Technical Services Director.

The newly created pivotal role at Frog will see him work alongside Chief Executive Officer Phil Worms to ensure the successful rollout of Frog Systems’ pioneering online wellness platform to clients across the UK.

Mr Jeffrey has an extensive background in IT services and customer management with a strong track record of delivering complex, technical installations to large scale clients. Starting today 1 March he will also assist with the recruitment of new business development and customer success teams.

“His vision and in-depth understanding of the enterprise landscape will be invaluable as we continue to define and develop cloud-enabled video based mental wellness solutions.”

Frog Systems is targeting fast-track growth with a set of new blue-chip clients in the pipeline for its software platform, which allows users to see and hear from people sharing their personal experiences of overcoming life’s challenges whilst signposting support.

The company invested £1.8 million in developing the software, both scalable and offering fully customisable solutions, before securing a further £500,000 in funding last month to develop a new leadership and sales team to accelerate growth.

Chairman Nick Kuenssberg said: “Given Paul’s proven track record of leadership, customer support and innovative thinking with one of Europe’s leading cloud companies, I am confident that he will shape and drive our operations teams effectively to ensure Frog System’s future success.’

·         Frog Systems, founded in 2015, developed the platform over the past two years with £1.8 million in seed funding.

·         Clients, which can customise the platform to include the themes and topics relevant to their users, commit to a monthly management fee. Frog maintains and updates the service databases ensuring accuracy of the support information presented to the users.

·         Frog Systems maintains and updates the database of service providers every three months.

·         In addition to offering clients a ready-made HR tool, Frog Systems also gathers back-end data and provides clients with useful information about user engagement trends, signposting potential HR issues for employers as well as highlighting improvements that can be made.

·         Video accounts for 80% of web traffic yet is woefully overlooked as a communication tool by wellbeing and health information and service providers

·         At the 2020 Start Up Summit, organised by FutureX, Frog was named winning startup following a live digital pitch in front of 1,000 delegates.

·         Frog was selected as the finalist from over 100 ‘tech for good’ applicants from across the UK. The top prize was a business support package worth more than £65k and a funded place on FutureX’s Silicon Valley Scale programme.
