Mark McBride-Wright, Founder & Managing Director of EqualEngineers said; “I am proud to have got these awards off the ground to celebrate outstanding achievement in engineering and technology, and being able to reward those who are making a huge impact in equality and diversity is just fantastic. It was also a time for the business community to come together, not only to celebrate the accomplishments of the deserving winners and finalists, but also to mark the fact that we all continue to play a vital role in the success of our engineering and technology sector and that its future achievements will be built on the foundations we lay today.”

John Downes, Director of Engineering & Innovation, SSE Renewables commented; “Judging this year’s awards was tough. Every entry was of a high standard and each one was unique which made the decision harder. The quality of the organisations and individuals we have operating in the engineering and technology sector is superb, and these awards give them the true recognition that they deserve.”

Polly Williams, Head of Diversity and Inclusion of Royal Academy of Engineering says:

“We were pleased to be supporting these awards, which raise the profile of the work that organisations are doing to make engineering more inclusive and recognise and celebrate talented engineers promoting diversity in the profession. The Academy is a vocal supporter of efforts to make engineering more diverse as well as promoting an inclusive culture. These awards highlight the aspects of our profession that make it a desirable place to work and thrive.”

And, we couldn’t have accomplished so much in our first year without our sponsors that we’re extremely proud to have worked with: SSE, our headline sponsor; Royal Academy of Engineering, our event partner; Babcock; ECITB; Heathrow; Institute of Healthcare, Engineering and Estate Management; MBDA; Recite Me; Siemens; The Institution of Engineering & Technology; and UKAEA.
