Cancer Research UK Christmas Fair Celebrates 25 Years at Scone Palace

This year’s Cancer Research UK Christmas Fair is celebrating 25 years with an extra special Christmas Fair at the place where it all began, Scone Palace. The historic visitor attraction was the original venue for the very first Christmas Fair in 1990 and has been hosting the shopping extravaganza for the past four years.

An array of Christmas stalls featuring festive gift ideas, cards, decorations and speciality foods will be set throughout the Palace’s State Rooms on Monday 23rd November from 4.30pm-8.30pm and Tuesday 24th November from 10.00am-4.00pm.

75 stalls will be showcasing their products with some new companies joining the event including Ibbi, a Newcastle based online shop who sell beautiful imported items from India and the Far East, and local company, Perdie & Boo, makers of tweed children’s clothing. The Christmas Fair will also be welcoming back Fur, Feather & Fin, a country clothing and gift company from West Sussex and Gaskell Gallery from North Yorkshire who specialise in interior accessories.

Penny I’Anson, Organiser of Cancer Research UK Christmas Fair, commented:

"We are delighted to be marking 25 years of this very special event at Scone Palace, the venue of our first Christmas Fair a quarter of a century ago. In that time, we have raised over £250,000 for Cancer Research UK, a figure of which we are very proud.

“At this year’s event, every stall has been specially selected for their originality, quality and craftsmanship. There is something for everyone to enjoy at our Cancer Research UK Christmas Fair and, if you are looking for an extra special Christmas present for a loved one this year, then this is the place to visit.

Lady Mansfield of Scone Palace, added:

“The Cancer Research UK Christmas Fair has raised a phenomenal amount of money for charity in its 25 years and we are thrilled to be hosting the event again in 2015. We look forward to welcoming many people through our doors to browse the wonderful range of festive stalls being showcased in our Palace State Rooms.”

Entrance is £6.00 per person and payable on arrival. The Old Servant’s Hall Coffee Shop and Gift Shop will also be open during the Christmas Fair for visitors to enjoy.
