Abacus Manufacturing Group helps raise money for NCCA UK

Abacus Manufacturing Group, the bathroom products manufacturer and specialist distributor, has had a long relationship with Hansgrohe so when the team heard that the granddaughter of Steve Jay, Hansgrohe's technical sales manager, had a rare form of cancer they were keen to help.

Ruby Young, whose family live in Rainham, Kent, was diagnosed with stage 4, high risk neuroblastoma - an aggressive childhood cancer - just after her second birthday. As with more than half of children diagnosed with neuroblastoma, the cancer had already spread throughout Ruby's body by the time she was diagnosed, making her condition one of the most difficult kinds of childhood cancer to treat.

The family are channeling their efforts into fundraising for the Neuroblastoma Children's Cancer Alliance (NCCA UK) to help Ruby if she should have to follow an expensive treatment path. Abacus Manufacturing Group has already sent a donation and is making Ruby's charity its priority for 2015 with fundraising events already planned.

With a high risk neuroblastoma diagnosis, the probability of relapse is high and Ruby faces a 45% chance of survival. Through the support that is flooding in, the NCCA UK can ensure that every possible avenue for treatment is open to her and other children to beat the disease. Donations can be made viawww.justgiving.com/RubyYoungJourney.
