Bradford Garden Centre is shortlisted for three awards in national industry awards

 

Directors and staff at a Bradford Garden Centre are celebrating after being announced as finalists in three awards of a horticulture industry competition.

 

Tong Garden Centre has been shortlisted in theGarden Centre outlet of the year (large/destination), the High Growth Business of the Yearand theService Excellence Categories of the inauguralHorticulture WeekBusiness Awards 2018.

 

The awards recognise and reward the achievements of businesses in commercial horticulture and related industries and are supported by industry sponsors including the NFU.

 

The shortlist has been drawn up by experts including representatives from academia, industry, professional and charity sectors and the winners will be announced at a reception and presentation at the London Marriott Hotel Grosvenor Square on the 28th June. 

 

Tong Garden Centre co-owner, Mark Farnsworth is delighted with the news: "It's a credit to the team at Tong, who have worked exceptionally hard to implement huge changes, that we've reached the final of this national competition in not one, but three categories.

 

"Exceptional service in all areas underpins everything we do at Tong and it's very rewarding that our efforts to achieve service excellence have been recognised nationally."

 

Commenting on this year's entries, Horticulture Week editor Kate Lowe said: "Many congratulations to all our finalists on reaching the shortlist - and a huge thank you to all our entrants for the time and energy they put into their entries for the inaugural Horticulture Week Business Awards 2018.

"We launched the Business Awards to honour, support and showcase to key stakeholders the extraordinary work and achievements of businesses operating in all corners of the UK horticulture industry today.

"The high quality of entries in this inaugural year speaks volumes about the talent, commitment, prowess and resilience of professionals leading today's best horticultural enterprises."

Tong Garden Centre occupies a 14 acre site in Tong village. It is one of Yorkshire's biggest garden centres with 110,000 square feet of retail space and parking for up to 700 cars.
