Stafford gymnasts prepare for national finals

From expressive and creative choreography, to powerful and courageous balances, this month will see eight eager gymnasts from a local club in Stafford compete at theAcrobatic British Championshipsin Stoke-on-Trent.
From 19 - 20 May at FentonManor Sports Complex, judges will see one-pair and two-trios fromStafford Gymnastics Clubcompete for the top honours after receiving support from a local accountancy firm.
The talented participants from Stafford include:
- Lacey O'Neil and BertieThorpe, Grade 1
- Freya Johnson, Grace Miller and Lexie Banks, Grade 4
- Beth Giles, Claudia Ballinger and Saffron Ingham, IDP (International Development Pathway)
Local chartered certified accountants, Howards, hashelped the club to buy state-of-the-art equipment to help the young gymnasts practice tumbling skills such as flicks and somersaults on a custom built surface.
Club owner, Emma Hunt says: "Over the past year the girls have worked extremely hard to prepare their routines; this competition gives them a real opportunity to show off their Acrobatic abilities and compete for a higher title representing the club and the West Midlands region".
Howards' Richard Taylor adds: "As financial advisors to many local businesses and sole traders - several of whom use this gym with their families - we are always keen to support the community that we serve. From all at Howards we would all like to wish the girls the very best of luck!"
The annual contest sees hundreds of gymnasts showcase their choreography, skills, strength and flexibility across a two-day battle for prestigious titles.
