The Brecon Carreg Cardiff Bay Run

The Brecon Carreg Cardiff Bay run which is organised by Run4Wales will be taking place on Sunday March 25th.

With 4,500 people expected to take part in the event, road closures will be put in place for the safety of the competitors.

From 6am until 1.30pm, the following roads will be closed to facilitate the event (access will be maintained for residents)

        Bute Place (south of Pierhead Street)

        Britannia Quay

        Harbour Drive

From 9.45am until 1.30pm, the following roads will be closed:

        Bute Place (north of Pierhead Street)

        Lloyd George Avenue

        Porth Teigr Way

        Locks Road

       Cargo Road

        Pierhead Street from the junction with Bute Place to the junction with Caspian Way/ Falcon Drive.

The race will start on Roald Dahl Plass and head north, crossing Bute Place and travelling up Lloyd George Avenue towards the city centre.

Competitors will the turn at the top of Lloyd George Avenue and then run back down Lloyd George Avenue towards the Cardiff Bay, onto Bute Place, onto Britannia Quay, left onto Harbour Drive and onto Porth Teigr Way.

Turning right at the roundabout on to Cargo Road, the runners will then go through the West gate on to ABP land, on to Lock Road, past Alexandra House to the Barrage Lock Gates before turning around and returning on Locks Road.

The route passes the dock gate and returns on the cycle path parallel to Cargo Road and left on to Harbour Drive. The race will then continue back up Lloyd George Avenue towards the city centre and then back down towards Cardiff Bay and cross Bute Place before finishing at Roald Dahl Place.
