E Commerce hub floored using TREMCO products

A large new warehousing facility at the centre of the growing e-commerce sector saw  a range oftremco illbruckproducts put to the test. McLaren Constructionwere the main contractor for the project. Axiom Group Limitedwas the specialist flooring contractor which proposed the use ofTREMCO ES100 One Coat Universal DPMandTREMCO CS100 epoxy primerto treat recently laid floor slabs.

Axiom also employedTREMCO SX302 moisture tolerant latex underlaymentandTREMCO SF108 pressure sensitive acrylic adhesiveto lay high quality vinyl floorcoverings throughout the administrative areas.  As regular users of the TREMCO range, Axiom's operatives did not require any training in their application, but site support was provided by carrying out moisture testing of substrates, and preparing a specification to form part of the project documentation.

Northern Regional Manager for Axiom, Paul Beddard, commented: "As a major flooring contractor we work right across the UK, covering all types of commercial work from schools, hospitals, hotels and also apartment complexes, to industrial and office projects.

"We proposed the use of TREMCO products here on the basis of our past experience of their performance and the support available. We were installing high quality sheet vinyls over concrete substrates in the office areas. In total we successfully completed some 5,000 square metres of offices across several levels to the building; finishing right on schedule last September."

As an epoxy based, two-part damp proof membrane, TREMCO ES100 One Coat Universal DPM is the most widely used product in the UK for ensuring residual moisture in floor slabs does not adversely affect the adhesion of vinyl and other finishes. It was applied once the substrate had been primed with TREMCOCS100, before Axiom's operatives used TREMCO SX302 floor smoothing compound to take out any irregularities in the surface. Finally TREMCO SF108 was the BREEAM compliant, pressure sensitive adhesive chosen to bond down the vinyl.

Since the success of the project, tremco illbruck has gone on to supply Axiom with large quantities of TREMCO products for contracts throughout the country.
