Copper and Bronze

An exhibition of metal plate etching and sculpture

Thursday 12 October to Friday 17 November

This autumn, Whitewater Gallery presents Copper and Bronze, an exhibition of exquisite copper plate etching and bronze sculpture by three of Cornwall's leading artists. Printmaker Sally Spens studied Fine Art and Textiles at Goldsmiths College, and her hand printed fabric designs are included in the Victoria & Albert Museum's prestigious 20th Century Design Collection. Her delicate hand printed etchings, inspired by the patterns and forms of nature, have a rhythmic quality and show a designer's eye for line and composition.

Sarah Seddon studied Fine Art at University College, Falmouth. Her highly figurative etchings and aquatints of people, places, and found objects reflect the depth of detail possible in hand made print, and are developed using traditional metal plate etching, mono-printing, and the experimental use of ink. Sarah's own hand-printing press will also be on show during the private view.

Respected abstract sculptor Chris Buck studied at Redruth School of Art, and is a member of the Penwith Society of Artists, founded by luminaries of British abstraction Barbara Hepworth and Ben Nicholson. Inspired by unusual shapes in nature, film and the industrial debris of everyday life, his sculpture has received the Morris Singer Founders Prize awarded by the RWA.

The exhibition runs from Thursday 12 October to Friday 17 November at Whitewater Galleries in Polzeath and Port Isaac.
