Brush tips and blow dryers inspire event exploring ‘The Art of Hair’

FAMARA’s fashion accessories, inspired by local artist Elizabeth Harwood, are to be showcased in an event at Goldsworthy’s Marlborough salon in celebration of the harmony between fabrics and hair design.

On Wednesday 10th May from 7-9pm (12 Hughenden Yard, High Street, SN8 1LT), the award-winning salon’s hairdressers will be styling a range of short and long-haired models using some of FAMARA’s elegant cashmere and silk neckerchiefs.

Elizabeth Harwood, whose fluid, organic and abstract painting style has been used in the FAMARA range, said: “Art is beautiful but not only limited to the walls of your home. Every hairdresser is an artist when they craft beautiful designs from their clients’ locks. Goldsworthy’s already have our art in the salon, so we thought we’d bring it to life with an evening of having fun.”

‘The Art of Hair’ event is open free to the public and guests will enjoy a 10 per cent discount on all of the FAMARA neckerchiefs available on the night, priced normally at £69 each. To reserve a place contact Emma De Maio on emma@redheadpr.co.uk or 07921 160134.

Julian Clarke, Salon Director of Goldsworthy’s, said: “In our salons across the region we love to support talented people in local businesses. We’ve found that our customers particularly enjoy the FAMARA artwork on display, so now we look forward to showing how their quality accessories can complement the unique styles we create.”

The hairdressers at Goldsworthy’s salon will fold and plait a selection of neckerchiefs into their models’ styles. The Annalies (reds and oranges), Hydrangea (greens) and Spring Garden (pinks and greens) cashmere neckerchiefs, along with the Sari Silcott Voile (yellows and oranges) will all be exhibited on the night.

Elizabeth Harwood, who will join guests at the event, has been an artist since she was old enough to hold a brush. She’s inspired by the sea and her reflective sense of history. Elizabeth makes a wide range of her artwork available for rent in corporate workspaces but decided to explore further opportunities in 2016 by merchandising fashion and accessories with FAMARA.

Goldsworthy’s, meanwhile, designs hairstyles for each customer’s individual needs. It uses its unique AURA cutting system to create a cut with a memory. This makes it easy for clients to maintain their style at home. The Goldsworthy’s salons offer the finest in hair care products, including luxury brands such as Kérastase, Wella and more.
