Double delight for Bradford Garden Centre in national industry awards
Directors and staff at a Bradford Garden Centre are celebrating after winning two awards at a national competition for garden retailers.
The investment and hard work by the team at Tong Garden Centre has reaped rewards as the Tong Lane business received both the Destination Garden Centre Outlet of the Year and Customer Service Excellence Awards at the prestigious Garden Retail Awards in London recently.
Tong Garden Centre was acquired in 2015 and new owners, Mark Farnsworth and Tom Megginson wasted no time in investing in a series of improvements to its plant, catering, retail and play areas.
To win the Garden Centre Outlet of the Year award, Tong had to demonstrateexcellence in areas, including growth, customer satisfaction, community awareness, staff motivation, product range and marketing. Judges' feedback included: "Amazing turnaround" and "A very good example of a business turnover."
The Customer Service Excellence Award rewarded the team at Tong forcustomer service above and beyond the norm. The judges concluded that Tong demonstrated "strong commitment to improving service evidenced by some fantastic results".

Hosted by leading industry title, Horticulture Week, The Garden Retail & Garden Industry Awards recognise and celebrate the best businesses in the garden retail industry. The winners were announced at an awards ceremony on 22ndFebruary at London's Grand Connaught Rooms.
