Somerset's Dimpsey Glamping wins Silver at the annual South West Tourism Excellence Awards finale
Dimpsey Glamping in Chard, Somerset is celebrating another award success after winning Silver at the annual South West Tourism Excellence Awards finale held in Bristol on 2 February.
Dimpsey Glamping underwent a rigorous judging process in which a record 605 entries were considered.
Alison Rice from Family Holiday Association was this year's Chair of Judges and commented: "Yet again the South West leads the way in tourism excellence. Whatever 2017 throws at this very special region of Britain, tonight's award winners will excel at what they do best - offering all comers the best possible visitor experiences."
Emma Warren, who owns and runs Dimpsey Glamping says: "We are so delighted that our shepherd's hut has been recognised. It's a wonderful bit of luxury in the Somerset countryside and we love getting feedback from our guests, who appreciate all the effort we put in to making their stay truly memorable."
It's been a successful time of recognition for Dimpsey Glamping who won gold in The Somerset Glamping Business Of The Year Tourism Awards in October.
Emma's 5* luxury glamping retreat has been a labour of love for her over the past two years. She says: "We are one shepherd's hut on a farm, but our glamping experience is all about reconnecting with each other in a luxurious hut that allows you to relax in nature and enjoy time away from it all. It's a very boutique experience and we cater specifically for couples.
‘We've added a hot tub and wood-fired last year, and have some great plans to upgrade the experience this year."
Robin Barker of Services for Tourism added during the awards: "Excellence is elusive. It takes creativity, commitment, investment, and persistence to achieve.
