Yorkshire rapeseed oil producers call for foodies to join taste team

In a bid to expand and improve its range, a rapeseed oil business is taking customer feedback to another level with a new initiative.

Adam and Jennie Palmer, from Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil, are appealing for foodies and customers to join their taste team - a group that will help shape new products produced by the family and their team.

Members of the taste team would taste and evaluate new items from Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil and offer feedback in return for product samples.

"We think this scheme could go really far in terms of giving our customers the opportunity to voice their opinions on flavours and help us to develop our new lines," Jennie said.

"It's wonderful to get customers involved when we're thinking about new combinations, and in the past, new flavours we've developed in response to feedback have really taken off.

"We may be one of the first in the region to launch a taste team of this kind, so we'd love for as many people, of all ages and from anywhere in the country, to get involved."

They also plan to feature members of the tasting panel on their website with comments submitted remotely.

"Hopefully members will enjoy tasting the new things at their leisure, and because they can try these products in their own homes, it doesn't matter where they are based: this is open to everybody," she added.

Prospective members of the Taste Team should e mailjennie@yorkshirerapeseedoil.co.ukfor more information.

The Palmers have been growing, cold-pressing and bottling their award-winning rapeseed oil on their farm in the Yorkshire Wolds since 2008. The Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil range includes the original oils, deli oils, dressings and mayonnaises.
