The history of Sebo?
Established from a back bedroom in Germany in 1978, Semigerbwerbliche Bodenpflegegerate - or SEBO - has become the world's largest manufacturer of professional upright vacuum cleaners and, in 39 years, has founded operations in over 26 countries. The company has been instrumental in developing the modern vacuum cleaner, constantly introducing new and advanced technology to provide the most reliable and user-friendly models. This dedication to quality has paid off - SEBO's products have been voted the most reliable on the market by Which? Magazine and SEBO has sold millions of vacuum cleaners throughout the world.

Today SEBO's professional range includes both uprights and cylinders with the company's ethos centred around developing new technology to improve functionality and quality. An example of this is the patented ‘air belt' bumpers on SEBO cylinder machines which diffuse the exhaust air and protect walls and furniture. Another is the ‘flex' neck on DART uprights which makes them tremendously manoeuvrable. All SEBO models now feature electrostatic micro-filtration, a system which uses statically-charged micro-fibres to attract dust particles from the air stream. This enables the filter material to have a relatively open texture for excellent suction performance; and also provides highly-effective filtration. Originally introduced by SEBO in 1978, this system in combination with multi-layer bags gives the best combination of performance and hygiene available.

Over the past 39 years, SEBO vacuum cleaners have facilitated the chore of cleaning for both commercial and domestic situations. Ease of use, reliability and long-lasting performance are key to the company's success, with every vacuum cleaner manufactured being individually tested under the strictest quality control conditions.  "It's all about the design," says Justin Binks, SEBO's sales director. "Good designs stand the test of time. Many companies chop and change designs all the time and it is a clear sign that they have got things wrong. Our professional machines of today clearly follow those of 39 years ago; and they are more popular than ever. We make every effort to get the basic design right and then continuously improve it. We have a list of testimonials from satisfied customers that proves that the SEBO product range is the most efficient and cost-effective on the market and, with our constant development, we are able to maintain our reputation as market leaders in vacuum cleaners."

SEBO vacuum cleaners for bed and breakfast properties

It is well established that the number one criteria of a customer when rating a hotel or B&B is cleanliness. Obviously, the correct choice of vacuum cleaner is critical to achieving this. SEBO vacuum cleaners are designed to perform well; not just when they are new like so many other makes, but day after day, year after year.  SEBO vacuum cleaners are supremely reliable. They are also comfortable to use and have very useful features such as the ability to clean when flat for reaching under furniture. They are also designed to be easy to maintain with minimum fuss and effort. In short, they are purpose-designed for the job.

Many vacuum cleaners offer high filtration but, if this fine dust is released into the air when it is emptied, what is the point? It can be deeply unpleasant and potentially dangerous to clean a bagless bin, causing many unpleasant symptoms including sneezing, itchy eyes, nose and throat discomfort, rashes, disturbed sleep and shortness of breath.  These are largely caused by house dust mite droppings and mould spores - which you do not want in your bed and breakfast! Bag technology has come a long way in recent times with high-tech micro-fibre bags offering fade-free performance and a totally clean and hygienic way of emptying which keeps all the dust and particles inside. With SEBO multi-layer, sealable filter bags everything that has been picked up - whatever that may be - will never see daylight again!  Bagless machines cannot say the same. Finally, whether there is a link or not, bagged machines have proved to be far more reliable than bagless so potential repair costs have to be weighed against consumables costs.

What flooring do you have?

It's not just the difference between carpet or hard flooring; it's the type of flooring too. For instance, do you have a loop-pile or cut-pile carpet? Is it wool, or synthetic?  It can be a good idea to seek advice from your flooring supplier or from SEBO directly. Look for the comprehensive floorcare guide atwww.sebo.co.uk

Open plan or crowded with furniture?

Uprights are great for a large carpeted area and can be easier to push, whereas a cylinder should be considered for small areas with lots of furniture and predominantly hard floors. Many SEBO vacuum cleaners models are versatile and may serve for both.

Final thought!

A sensible option is to have a vacuum cleaner on each floor. This saves carrying one around and means you are not just depending on one machine.
